Overview

Cathedral Cove walkway, Hahei

Address: Grange Road South, Hahei Coromandel

Description

From the carpark at Hahei Beach, a track leads up through native bush and along the ridge line with incredible views over Mercury Bay, before descending into the bay. Once there, you’ll see the famous natural rock arch that featured in the film.

The rips are dangerous here so take care.

If you’re a snorkeller, don’t forget your gear as this is part of a marine reserve and teeming with marinelife.

You can also walk around to the neighbouring bays of Gemstone and Stingray Bay (about 2 hours return).
