Overview

Nothing beats a walk along the river on a beautiful, sunny Gisborne day. This 1km river walkway is nice and flat with lovely river views

Address: Reads Quay, Gisborne Gisborne & Eastland

Description

If you’re lucky, the waka rowers will be out and, if not, there are plenty of shady trees where you can stop to read your book and people watch. To get to the walkway, start at Cook’s Statue on Waikanae Beach, walk along Reads Quay and you’ll end up on the Taruheru Riverbanks. The walk is wheelchair and pushchair friendly as well.

Locations

Reads Quay, Gisborne, East Coast.
