Firth Tower Museum - this massive concrete blockhouse was built in 1880-81 when it was feared fighting was going to break out between Maori and Pakeha....

Address: 266 Tower Road, Matamata, Waikato Hamilton & Waikato

Standing on raised ground the tower offers an expansive view of the surrounding area.

The Tower is now a feature part of a local museum which details its history as well as that of a 1902 homestead and 1912 church also on site.
