Overview

Wainui Falls is one of the the most accessible waterfall in the Tasman Region, beautiful too!

Description

The 30 minute walk in to the falls will take you through farmland and a forest of nikau palms, rata trees and ferns. You’ll then head across the Wainui River on a swing bridge, and hear the falls before you see them suddenly appear in a misty spray.
Around 1hour return walk.

Locations

Wainui Falls Road, Golden Bay, Nelson and Bays.
The track starts from a carpark in Wainui Bay, 20 km north-east from Takaka. Look for the direction sign on the road side approximately 300 metres after crossing over the Wainui River Bridge.
